Insomnia Oekaki is a practice oekaki open to artists of all levels whatever it's from amature to professional. Artists are welcome to express their freedom without any strict limitations.
Here are the rules that you should consider reading before drawing or commenting on this oekaki:
A. General Conduct
1. Hentai, pornographic, sexually explicit and/or hate artwork are all prohibited. However, tasteful adult or mature images are permitted as long as it doesn't cross the line. If so, please check off that the picture is marked as an adult picture when posting it, especially if your picture is unfinished. Do not remote link any of these pictures from the oekaki.
2. There is no time limit on the pictures that you must spend on, but blank pictures and text only images are however prohibited.
3. When someone needs help with the errors that they may find in the picture that they drew, please use real comments and/or suggestions. If you wish to help them, you can request them to draw a reference picture if you wish.
4. Please be respectful to other artists. Comments can only be posted by registered members and in regards to your picture, it has to be polite. Constructive critism is okay but attacking other members are not. This includes excessive use of offensive language, racial slurs and/or insults.
B. Registration
1. Only one person per accound is allowed.
2. Your username must be appropriate. Usernames that contain alphanumerical characters and a 16 character limit have been enforced.
3. In order for your account to function, you must provide a valid e-mail address. Registration is automatic due to problems with certain users receiving verification code.
4. Your e-mail address must be valid and functionable in order to draw on this oekaki. However, if for some reason, you are unable to change your password or that you can't use the password recovery feature, because your e-mail address is no longer working, your password will be automatically reset.
5. Passwords must be no more than 16 characters long when you first register for this oekaki or when you change the password using the Profile Editor.
6. The comment box is limited to 256 characters for proper introduction.
C. Drawing
1. When starting on your drawing, your picture is defaulted to 256 x 256 pixels. If you wish, you can increase or decrease the size of the picture that you want to draw on.
2. Drawings can be done on one of the five applets (OekakiBBS, Normal or Paletted PaintBBS, ShiPainter Normal/Pro or Chibi Paint) and drawings that contain animation playing is optional. Animation is not yet supported on Chibi Paint.
3. When you're done your drawing, you must comment on your picture or your picture will not show, however if you lost your picture after you saved it, go to Administration » Local > Recover Pics and select a picture that you want to recover before entering the commentary on the drawing.
4. If you don't have time to finish your drawing, please save it so that you can retouch it later. Temporarly marking the drawing as Adult is necessary.
5. Incase your computer crashes or something troublesome happens, taking a screenshot of your drawing is recommend incase you spend on long time on a drawing.
D. Limitations
1. The canvas sizes on all oekaki applets are 100 x 100 to 999 x 999 pixels.
2. Each page can hold up to 10 pictures and can store up to a maximum of 1,000 pictures. If it goes over this mark, older pictures will be removed to make room for newer ones.
3. Drawings that are larger than 512 pixels in width and/or in height or bigger than 64 KB in size will be thumbnailed to conserve bandwidth.
4. Archiving of pictures are not allowed, so don't even ask to have your picture archived.
5. Some of these applets that have been drawn without animation will not work in Microsoft Virtual Machine due to the problems with the java applet itself. As for the OekakiBBS, there are unresolvable problems due to the security code using bad HTTP or specific functions when saving or retouching pictures resulting in images transfer errors. Alternate methods are to either clear out your browser cache, use the animated version of your applets, Sun Java or a alternate web browser.
Failure to ablide by the rules, may result in picture and or comment deletion, loss of Draw Access, account banishment, account deletion and in severe cases, IP and/or host ban from the entire site. So, please respect them.
